Fabian Ahvenaisen rahasto
Ilmoitus haettavasta apurahasta 13.10.2017
Aalto-yliopiston insinööritieteiden korkeakoulun Fabian Ahvenaisen rahaston rahastotoimikunta julistaa haettavaksi sillanrakennuksen ja talonrakennuksen apurahoja tunnustuksena suoritetuista opinnoista. Apurahojen suuruus on 1 500–4 500 euroa. Apurahojen lopulliseen lukumäärään ja suuruuteen vaikuttavat hakijoiden määrä ja taso. Apurahoja voivat hakea sillan- tai talonrakennukseen perehtyneet Aalto-yliopiston insinööritieteiden korkeakoulun diplomi-insinöörin tutkintoa tai jatko-opintoja suorittavat opiskelijat sekä äskettäin diplomi-insinöörin tutkinnon tai jatkotutkinnon suorittaneet henkilöt.
Apurahat jaetaan juhlatilaisuudessa, joka on suunniteltu järjestettäväksi perjantaina 9.3.2018 klo 14.
Apurahan hakijan tulee osoittaa rahastotoimikunnalle lyhyt vapaamuotoinen hakemus, josta ilmenevät hakijan perehtyneisyys sillan- tai talonrakennustekniikkaan, hakijan opintomenestys (liitteenä opinto-rekisteriote tai tutkintotodistus) sekä puhelinnumero, sähköposti ja osoitetiedot.
Fabian Ahvenaisen rahasto tukee pitkällä aikavälillä tasapuolisesti sillan- ja talonrakennuksen alueita. Hakijoita pyydetään ilmoittamaan hakemuksessaan, onko heidän opintojensa painotus ollut sillanrakennus- vai talonrakennustekniikassa. Hakemuksien arviointiin vaikuttaa myös alkupääoman lahjoittajan tarkoitus edistää erityisesti konstruktiivista rakennustekniikkaa
Hakemus on toimitettava rakennustekniikan laitokselle sähköpostitse osoitteeseen ahvenaisenrahasto@aalto.fi siten, että se on perillä viimeistään maanantaina 20.11.2017.

Announcement on grants up for application 13 October 2017
The grant committee for the Aalto University School of Engineering's Fabian Ahvenainen Foundation has announced that grants for bridge and structural engineering in recognition of completed “bridge engineering” or “structural engineering and building physics” studies are now up for application. The grants range from 1,500 euros to 4,500 euros. The final number of grants and their sizes will be influenced by the number and standard of the applicants. Eligible grant applicants include Aalto University Department of Civil Engineering Master's degree students and post-graduate students as well as persons who have recently completed their Master's or postgraduate degrees and are familiar with and competent in bridge and structural engineering.
The grants will be awarded at a ceremony, which is due to be held on Friday 9 March 2018 at 2 pm.
A grant applicant must submit a free-form application to the grant committee, which details the applicant's familiarity with and competence in bridge and structural engineering, the applicant's academic performance (an attached transcript of records or degree certificate) as well as the applicant's telephone number, email and home address.
The Fabian Ahvenainen Foundation equally supports the different areas of bridge and structural engineering in the long-term. Applicants are asked to state in their application whether they have placed a specific emphasis on “bridge engineering” or “structural engineering and building physics” in their studies. The party that donated the initial capital did so with the intention of promoting constructive structural engineering; this too will influence the assessment of applications.
